Jimmy "Pistol" has lived in Clay County all his life. Pistol's daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Rob Weir, are co-owners of the funeral home. He has 2 grandchildren, Austa and Caleb. Pistol is a member of the Celina Church of Christ. 
Pistol graduated from John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in 1966. He has worked as a funeral director and embalmer for over 50 years.

Bonnie is a lifelong resident of Clay County, she grew up in the Moss area. She has worked part-time assisting with various tasks at Upton-Hay Funeral Home since January 2010. She is a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony. Bonnie has 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, and has recently added a great-granddaughter to her lovely family.

Monica is a 1992 graduate of  Celina High School. She graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1996 with a BS in Elementary Education.  She graduated from TN Tech University in 1999 with a Masters degree in Instructional Leadership and again in 2002 with a Specialist in Education degree in Instructional Leadership. Monica is a retired teacher from the Clay County School system after 25 years. She graduated from John A. Gupton College in December 2020. After her retirement from the school system, she completed her funeral director apprenticeship and became a Licensed Funeral Director in July 2023.  Monica is married to Rob Weir and they have two children Austa and Caleb. Monica is a member of the Celina Church of Christ.

Funeral Assistant

Rob is a 1986 graduate of Celina High School. He attended Middle Tennessee State University for two years as math major before moving on and receiving a Degree in Electronic Engineering and Applied Science. He has worked on metal stamping presses and industrial automated machines for more than 20 years. Rob is currently the Maintenance Manager at a metal stamping facility in Cookeville, TN. Rob married Monica Hay in 1998. They have 2 children, Austa Raye Weir and Caleb Elliott Weir. He likes the motto, ‘do as I do not as I say”, and wants to lead by example. Rob is a member of the Celina Church of Christ.

Kristy is a 1997 graduate of Hermitage Springs School. She attended Tennessee Technology University for Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced in 2000. She worked for Celina Fire & EMS for 14 years, she was the Director of the Celina Fire & EMS for 6 years and was active on the Clay County E-911 Board.

Kristy married Jeff Allen in 2013. Together they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. 

Kristy has been dedicated to serving the citizens of Clay County. She is currently enrolled with the State of Tennessee Funeral Directors & Embalmers as an Apprentice Funeral Director & Embalmer and is looking forward to maintaining her dedication to honoring the community at the capacity she will be serving at Upton-Hay Funeral Home.


Willie Kerr

Willie Kerr

Grounds Caretaker

Willie Kerr has lived in Clay County all of his life. He is married to Betty Kerr and they have 1 daughter, Sandra. Willie worked at OshKosh B'Gosh for 32 years as a press operator and mechanic. He worked for the City of Celina for 10 years doing various jobs in the maintenance department. Then he served as the mayor of Celina for 8 years. He started working at Upton-Hay Funeral Home in 2020. Willie is a member of the Ashlock Church of Christ.
